Interior Doors – Give Your Home A Touch Of Class

When you are designing or renovating a home, you will quickly find that those little extra touches and attention to detail will make your project complete. Choosing everything from the right flooring to the correct interior doors to carry through your theme and décor, will ensure that you end up with the home or room that you always wanted.

Choosing interior doors is a fun way to add to your design. These doors, when carefully selected, can pick up the lines, color and the shapes in the room that you want to feature and just add that perfect continuity that really brings the space together.

Styles of Interior Doors

Interior doors, particularly top quality wood interior doors, come in a wide variety of styles. Knowing the basic description of the style as well as the best materials for your needs will help you get the right door for any room in your home.

Panel doors are very popular and can include 1 to 6 panels, with options to custom design a door with even more panels .The panels are typically slightly recessed in the door, with the border of the door and the cross pieces in the design either straight or curved to create a simple and elegant design.

Shaker doors or Mission style doors are designed to be minimalistic in design and use square and rectangular shapes and sharp lines. They can have clear glass or frosted, reed, or rain water types of glass to provide additional privacy. French doors, either single or double, are a very nice choice between rooms where you want an open look but still privacy when needed.

Wood Options

To allow the natural wood to show through, you will need to select a beautiful type of wood. Knotty alder is very rustic looking and looks terrific in a kitchen, family room or in bedrooms. Mahogany, with its darker color, is a wonderful option for a family room, office or den, and oak will be perfect anywhere.

You can select stains that are lighter or darker, if you prefer, allowing you to coordinate baseboards, crown molding and even window sills with the same color and the same type of wood. This provides a very coordinated look to the room or the home and highlights the attention to detail in your renovation or construction project.
