By Aiden ArmstrongEveryone in northern Florida relies on the air conditioning during the summer and they don’t want to find themselves without it. Some air conditioning problems are obvious and require an immediate call to an AC repair company in Jacksonville, FL. Others aren’t as clear, but they’re just as troublesome. Here are three times one should always err on the side of caution and call their local air conditioning professionals.
Weird Sounds
Is the air conditioner working but making strange sounds? Yes, AC units make noise when they turn on, but the noises shouldn’t be unusual. Clanging or high-pitched sounds could indicate a belt problem or other issues that could impede performance. Call for an inspection to rule out anything major.
Unit Is Producing Warm Air
Obviously, one wants their air conditioner to produce cool air. Warm air blowing through the vents is a sign that something isn’t working right. It might be something as simple as changing the air filter, but if that doesn’t change the situation, there’s something else at play. The problem might be an issue with the condenser or the cooling agent might need recharging. An AC technician can diagnose the problem quickly and get the home cooled in no time.
AC Turns On and Off Frequently
During the hottest days, homeowners might notice their AC units turning on and off more often. However, if the unit kicks on for a few minutes, turns off, and kicks back on again, repeating the cycle over and over, this is a problem called short-cycling and needs attention immediately.
