By Aiden ArmstrongYou may be opportune to receive the call of a friend in jail. This does not always mean they have committed a heinous crime. Jail time can happen for disrespecting a police officer or even forgotten traffic tickets. When your friend is stuck behind bars, you may need the help of a bondsman.
Gather Information
Before you head out to visit a bail bond agent, you need to make sure that you have the correct information. Make sure you use your friend’s full legal name when you fill out the paperwork. You also need to make sure you have the correct birth date, address, and jail information. When you visit a bail bondsman in Jacksonville, FL, you must give them the right data so that they can set the new court date. There may be a case number that needs to be mentioned, as well. Call the jail if the bondsman cannot retrieve this information from the system.
Payment
You must pay fees to the bail bondsman. You may need to call ahead, so you know how much money to bring with you. Some places may only accept cash, so you may need to stop by the bank or ATM on your way to post bond. Your payment allows your friend to go free until the set court date. The perpetrator needs to attend the new court date; otherwise, another warrant for arrest might be issued.
It is not every day that people end up in jail. Your friend may need help to get things straightened out after making a one-time mistake. If you are willing to help, call a bondsman to find out how to proceed.
