By Aiden ArmstrongMoving to college is a very important decision that you’ll make after high school. However, after that decision is made, you will have to figure out where you will be living while attending school. While living in a college dormitory might make sense on the surface, it is a far better idea to live in UAB student apartments. There are many benefits to doing so.
Flexibility
Not every student will be attending classes all year long. When you agree to live in a dorm room, though, you are forced to agree to pay for a full school year. This means you will end up paying room and board for a place you aren’t even living in. This is a complete waste of money. However, when you live in your apartment, you can work out the lease with the building owner if you are attending school for a shorter period than is typical.
Lower Rent
When you live in a dorm room, you end up paying the same amount of rent no matter how many people live in the space. You cannot save money by splitting the rent with roommates. The same cannot be said for private UAB student apartments. You can put some money back into your pocket by inviting other students to live with you.
