Tips for a Stress Free Cabinet Installation in Stuart, Florida

Now that you’ve made the decision to install new cabinets, you’ll need to prepare yourself and your kitchen before home cabinets installation in Stuart, Florida. The contractor will typically provide you with an installation day and an approximate time, so you will have notice and time to prepare. Here are a few tips to help make your cabinet installation stress free.

Empty the Kitchen

The first thing you’ll need to do is empty the kitchen. Take everything out of the existing cabinets, box all of the items and keep in mind that this is the perfect opportunity to dispose of expired food and all items you no longer use. If you are having new cabinets installed near the oven or over the refrigerator, the installers will usually move these items for you when they arrive. Be sure to remove all pictures and decorative items from the walls as well.

Create a Temporary Kitchen

During the home cabinets installation in Stuart, Florida, you will not be able to cook or have easy access to dining and cooking utensils. Decide on an area in your home where you can create a temporary kitchen. For instance, move the microwave into the living room so you can heat meals for a day or two and don’t forget to fill a cooler with ice so you can have easy access to cold items. Don’t forget to also temporarily relocate the coffee maker and be sure to have disposable plates, cups and eating utensils on hand.

Once you have cleared out the kitchen and set up your temporary kitchen, you’ll need to protect the rooms near the kitchen from dust and debris that may arise during the installation. To keep the other areas free from dust, hang plastic sheeting over the doorways leading into the kitchen. Once the installation is complete, be sure to clean the kitchen before removing the plastic sheeting, this will prevent the dust from blowing when you remove the plastic.
