What You Should Do Before Scheduling Air Conditioning Repair in Covington

Air Conditioning By Aiden Armstrong 2 min read

Having you air conditioner go out on you, especially if you live in a hotter region, can not only be uncomfortable but also life-threatening. This is very true for people who are elderly, so proper maintenance of the air conditioning unit is a must. If you are having trouble with your AC unit, here are some things you should do before scheduling air conditioning repair in Covington.

Check Your Filter

You’d be surprised how something so simple can cause such a disruption to the airflow. Depending on the type of filter you have as well as the size of your home, you may want to change them out around every 30 days. A filter that is covered in dirt and dust will always hinder the performance of your air conditioning unit, so keep this in mind.

Thermostat Settings

Your thermostat is responsible for reading the temperature in the house and reporting it back to the unit. If you find that your home is very warm yet you know you have the air conditioner turned on, check your settings and make sure you have cool selected and not heat. Also, it is a good idea to use the auto option as opposed to on, so the unit only cuts on when you need it to.

Before scheduling air conditioning repair in Covington, make sure to do a quick troubleshoot first as the problem might be something small. Make sure all of your settings are accurate, your filter is clean and there are no loose hoses, cords, etc. If you have questions about your air conditioner, visit AccuTemp website today.
