By Aiden ArmstrongIf you’re not paying attention to the signs of furnace problems, you could be in trouble when temperatures get cold. Read on to learn more about the top signs of a failing furnace and call for furnace repair in Chicago right away.
Weird Sounds
Is your furnace making strange noises? The first time your furnace kicks on, it’ll make some noise. That’s normal. What’s not normal is banging, screeching, or other unusual sounds. Have these noises checked out ASAP.
Short Cycling
A short cycling furnace will produce heat and appear to run well. However, if you notice your furnace isn’t completing a cycle and turning it on and off frequently, this is a sign of short cycling. You want to have your furnace checked by a qualified service technician to figure out why the unit won’t complete a cycle. Do this soon to ensure your system’s longevity.
Burning Odors
The first time you turn your furnace on for the season, you’ll likely notice it smells like it’s burning. That burning smell is normal because the unit is burning off dust and dirt that’s collected over the summer. However, after a cycle or two, that smell should go away. If it lingers, call a technician to inspect the unit to make certain everything’s fine.
Qualified service technicians want their customers to know that fast repairs mean fewer out-of-pocket expenses. Not only do you get cheaper repairs, but you use less energy, and your utility bills won’t skyrocket.
