Are you experiencing hair loss? If so, you’re not alone and you probably do not have to just “live with it.” In fact, you likely have several good options for hair restoration. Feller & Bloxham Medical offers full hair restoration services in PA, and may have right treatment for your hair loss.
The most effective treatment for hair loss is hair transplant surgery. Hair transplant surgery can be performed one of two ways: the Follicular Unit Transplant technique, also known as the FUT or “strip surgery,” and Follicular Unit Excision, also known as FUE or sometimes Follicular Unit Extraction. The goal of each procedure is the same: remove strong, permanent follicles from the donor region on the sides and back of the scalp and transplant them permanently to the bald and thinning regions. During an FUT procedure, the grafts are harvested by taking a small “strip” from the back of the scalp. The area where the strip was taken from is closed with stitches or staples, and the strip is dissected down into the individual follicles or follicular units – which will be transplanted to the front individually – under large microscopes. During the FUE procedure, small tools are used to cut around and individually remove the follicular units “one-by-one” from the back.
If you’re not sure which hair restoration method will work best for you, you can speak with the experienced doctors at Feller & Bloxham Medical. You can also take a look at before and after pictures of patients who have used the hair restoration methods you are considering. This will give you an accurate idea of how your hair will look once the procedure has fully grown.
