By Aiden ArmstrongMassive holes in your screens mean a window screen replacement is already long overdue. If you’re tired of dealing with mosquitoes and bugs that get through your screen, then here are a few tips on how to deal with the problem:
DIY it
Small tears are easy enough to repair, says Martha Stewart. Just go online and follow step-by-step instructions on how to make that possible. You can even go for patch kits.
Hire pros
However, not all window tears are as easy to fix. If yours is already massive beyond repair, then the best thing you can do is hire a pro to replace your screens for you.
Why pros?
DIY measures are all well and good. But if the damage to your screen is too severe, then pros will be better equipped to handle the job. They have the right tools and experience as well as knowledge. That means they can get it done so much faster than you. That’s a definite check on the plus column if you want those tears fixed as soon as possible. Pros also have the right tools so they will surely be much more efficient at the job.
How to find one
Finding pros to hire isn’t all that tough. Shop around to give you a good idea of the companies that offer window screen replacement services in your area. Then narrow down your choices. Start with the basics. Does the company employ trained, bonded and licensed cleaners? They should. Does the company provide excellent customer support? Talking to a pleasant and helpful customer service staff makes all the difference at the end of the day. Don’t forget to set up a one on one appointment. A consultation is usually handy in helping you figure out if the company is a good fit for your project and budget.
