By Aiden ArmstrongWhen a person’s mouth begin to hurt, that is the time to go visit a dentist. Depending on the time of day, an emergency appointment with the dentist might need to be made. If the person doesn’t have a regular dentist, getting to see a dentist may be more costly than for those who have regular dentists. Thus, it is important to connect with a general dentist or family dentist for all of the dental needs. There is a Dental Office in Keizer OR that sees patients for their general dental needs as well as special dental needs.
Getting a general dentist for the entire family is just as important as getting a family physician. The general dentist will attend to the oral hygiene and education of a patient, ensuring that he or she knows exactly how to take care of their teeth. The general dentist will perform routine oral exams to detect the presence of any abnormalities such as tooth decay or the onset of disease like periodontitis. The general dentist will perform emergency extractions if it becomes necessary.
Other issues that may arise with the teeth include cosmetic dental issues, such as discolored teeth, spaces between the teeth or missing teeth. Such issues call for orthodontics and cosmetic dental procedures. For example, dental bonding can be used to help with discolored teeth or otherwise stained teeth. Porcelain veneers can be used also to repair the discolored teeth, or help with spaces between the teeth. Missing teeth can be helped with fixed bridges, dentures or dental implants. People may also find they require braces, or the more popularly used, Invisalign clear aligners.
