A smooth coat of paint is what people want. This is true whether it is the exterior of their residence or the surface of a kitchen or bathroom cabinet. However, while rollers remain a favorite for many painters, it may be time to drop the nap variety in favor of a high density foam paint roller.

Foam Rollers

Foam rollers are increasingly finding preference among painters. This is doubly true for a very specific type – the high density foam paint roller. They are advantageous because of their size and shape. They are easy to use for many types of applications. In fact, foam paint rollers can tackle ceilings and other large areas with as much ease as smaller nooks and narrow trims. While not recommended for use with latex paint, high density and regular foam paint rollers perform their tasks quickly and effectively efficiently absorbing more paint for better coverage using less physical energy, and can be relatively inexpensive.

However, not all foam rollers provide the same benefits. Choosing one means considering a variety of factors, including these two:

  1. Specific application
  2. Quality: Choosing a high-quality foam roller ensures easier clean-up, durability, longevity and smoother application of the paint

It is also important to remember that when using a foam roller to consider the density of the foam. If the foam is cheap and too light, it will form sub-par. On the other hand, a roller featuring a high density foam will perform better.

High Density Foam Paint Roller

While it may seem sensible to buy a cheap foam roller, it is not cost-effective. When it comes to performance, the thicker the foam, the better the performance. By purchasing a high density foam paint roller, you are providing your paint crew or yourself with the best tools for completing a job quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
