By Aiden ArmstrongGetting a new air conditioner for your home is a big investment. You don’t want to start the buying process uninformed. Ask these four questions before hiring professionals for AC installation in York, SC.
You should know how large the air conditioner you purchase should be. The professionals who offer AC installation in York, SC can give you expert advice so that you can buy an appropriately sized air conditioner. If it is too large, it will cycle on and off, which wastes electricity and increases your electric bill. If it is too small, it will have to work much harder, increasing your electric bill and leading to the unit wearing down sooner than necessary. The professional you work with will consider the number of windows in your home, your home’s orientation, the home size and layout, and how much shade is around your home.
You should know how efficient the new system that will be installed in your home is. You want to buy something that will keep energy losses to a minimum. You want it to cool your home quickly, but you don’t want your energy bills to go up.
You should also note the installation timeline. In most cases, installing a new air conditioning unit involves ductwork, plumbing, and electrical components. There is also calibrating and testing the system. You can expect it to take at least one day.
You should know who will do the work. It is best if the person you talk to originally is the person who does the work for you.
