By Aiden ArmstrongBefore making your purchase of Spyderco knives, there are a number of factors to consider. For example, you need to think about if you are looking for a single-bladed knife, a multi-bladed knife, or a multi-tool knife. Each one has its benefits.
It is also important to think about the type of blade that your Spyderco knives should have. There are pros and cons associated with plain edges, fully serrated edges, and partially serrated edges. Plain edges are best for getting a clean cut. They are easy to sharpen. However, they are not efficient when it comes to sawing or pull cuts. Fully serrated knives are usually thin and perform well when cutting tough material. However, they are difficult to sharpen and often need to be sent back to the factory to accomplish this goal. Getting a knife with a partially serrated blade offers the best of both worlds.
There are pros and cons that are associated with the size of different blades as well. For example, small blades are handy and easy to carry. They are good for performing basic tasks like opening small boxes or cutting string. Medium blades are typically considered the sweet spot when it comes to blade size. They can perform most tasks. Large blades are usually displayed or used for self-defense. If you are interested in purchasing a knife with a blade that is more than four inches long, check local laws before carrying it.
